Guide
How to Play Jimothy's Journey
A quick primer on controls, needs, and fame in the wholesome raccoon survival game set in a stylized Seattle.
Controls
- Joystick (bottom-left) or WASD / arrow keys to move.
- Act button (bottom-right) or Space / E to interact.
- Tap dialogue boxes to advance conversations.
- ♪ toggle (top-right) mutes or resumes music.
The Six Needs
Jimothy has six needs that slowly drain over time. Let any of them bottom out and his mood tanks — sad Jimothy walks slower, so keeping needs met is also how you outrun trouble.
- Hunger — rummage a trashcan or grab porch food.
- Water — sip at a fountain, birdbath, or hose.
- Relief — duck into a bush or alley (out of sight!).
- Rest — curl up in a den (log, box, drain, crawlspace).
- Social — chirp at squirrels, bunnies, and chipmunks.
- Buzz — pick up shiny trinkets that catch your eye.
Dash-Flip
Once Daddy Devito teaches you the move in Fremont Crossing, you can perform a dash-flip to escape trouble.
- Hold Shift or tap the Flip button to roll forward.
- During the roll you are briefly invulnerable — use it to slip past a chasing photographer or dog walker.
- A flip costs a quarter of your Hunger, so keep Jimothy fed or the move will leave him famished.
- Practice two clean rolls, then use the flip to escape one real chase, and Devito will reward you with an extra life.
Fame & Shinies
Photographers wander the neighborhood. Most are harmless fans — let them snap a picture and they'll drop a shiny (bottle cap, coin, foil, can). Carry it back to any den or burrow and simply touch it to stash the shiny in your inventory. Stashing raises your Fame and restores Buzz.
The catch: a fraction of the crowd wants to take you home. You can't tell them apart, and the higher your Fame climbs, the more of them appear. If one grabs you, it's game over.
Survival Tips
- Keep Jimothy happy — he only outruns a chaser when his spirit is up.
- Relieve yourself only under cover; getting seen costs Fame.
- Cars in the street hit hard. Cross with intent.
- Dogs and overeager fans ("meme farmers") will chase you on sight.
- If you're being chased, dive into a dumpster or a den — your pursuer will give up and wander off.
- Visit Duchess Cupcake anytime for a refresher on the rules.
